Amsterdam is the European birthplace of graffiti culture, and the NDSM shipyard in the north of the city is a particularly impressive example of this. The Graffiti Hall of Fame is one of the best spots for street art in Amsterdam and an absolute highlight of my short trip in summer 2024. Here, local and international artists have immortalized themselves on the huge concrete walls and left behind breathtaking works. The scenery at the NDSM shipyard is raw and urban – perfect for the energetic graffiti culture.
During my visit, I discovered new, impressive works of art at every turn – from large-scale murals to quick throw-ups and detailed tags. This diversity makes the Hall of Fame a unique place. What is particularly exciting is how the artworks are constantly changing – what can be seen today could be painted over tomorrow. It is precisely this dynamic that makes the graffiti scene here so lively and exciting.
