If you are looking for an unparalleled graffiti and street art experience, there is no way around the Straat Museum in Amsterdam. This museum is the first of its kind in Europe and displays impressive works by well-known and emerging artists worldwide. On my trip in summer 2024, I had the opportunity to stroll through the huge halls of the museum and take in the creative masterpieces. I was particularly impressed by the way graffiti is celebrated here as a modern art form.
The works on display are not only large-scale and impressive, but also tell exciting stories about urbanity, protest and freedom. Many of the artists created their graffiti directly on site, which gives the whole thing an authentic touch.
